Sports are important to me because not only is it something I enjoy, but it also helps me to escape from the stresses that life has to offer. The basketball court is like a sanctuary to me I never bring any negative events that happened to me throughout the day to the court. Playing basketball just helps me to relax. I am also a very competitive person so naturally sports would be something I enjoy. The thrill of a victory is overwhelming and the agony of defeat just pushes me to do what I can to not go through it again and feel that feeling.

My most memorable sports moment took place my senior year of high school. My basketball team had a tremendous season before losing at Arco Arena. Individually I lead the team in scoring and rebounding and was voted to play in the Optimist game and an all-star game for foster awareness. The season changed me both as  a person and an athlete. I changed as a person because I had built relationships with people that can't be broken and grew up a lot through that season. As a player I changed because I had a strictly offensive mentality and brought into our team's defensive scheme which helped us to be successful. I also changed because instead of being a "me" person I was willing to do whatever possible to get the win.
