The Lady Keelhaulers ran their first race at full strength in 2017 and showed well in a 6K race.
It only took 50 more seconds for promising freshman Lauren Silva to run the 6K in comparison to last weekend's 5K run at PUC, a very impressive feat for the young runner, completing the race with a time of 29:05.
Sabrina Brown ran her first collegiate 6K with a time of 32:04. Nicolette Lipman made her Keelhauler debut, finishing second among Cal Maritime runners with a time of 28:53. And Alanna Kochuten again lead the Keelhaulers finishing the race in 28:29.
"This was our first race at full strength and I think we did a pretty good job," Head Coach Jeff Ward said. "Running the longer distance is a challenge due the different splits, but the team did really well. I am looking forward to their next race at Vanguard."
The course length of 6K is the NCAA distance for women's cross country in comparison to the typical 5K that is run in the NAIA.
