Goody Walowit again was the top Keelhauler finishing seventh overall and beating his personal best by 13 seconds in the 8K race at 29:12.
Jacob Jagelski finished second among Cal Maritime runners, and cleared his personal record by 1 minute and 16 seconds to finish ninth overall witha time of 29:43. Thomas Drangsholt set a new personal record by 2 minutes and 20 seconds at 33:15, Jacob Flores cleared his personal best by 3 minutes at 33:10, and Charles McDonald improved his by 1 minute and 6 seconds at 37:36.
An unfortunate moment in the race occured when Thomas Clay was tripped up and fell during the first 50 meters causing a general recall and restart of the race. He required treatment from the athletic trainers for abrasions and scrapes incurred during the fall and did not return.
"I am disappointed Tom didn't get the opportunity to run the race," Head Coach Jeff Ward said. "He put in a great week of work and I know he was excited for the chance. The main focus is that he is ok and he will be able to learn from the experience."
The race was held at Spring Lake Regional Park, with great running conditions and flat course with hard surfaces made for a fast track.
